Most Security Projects Don't Fail at Install. They Fail at Scoping.
Three scoping questions that separate smooth access control, video and intrusion projects from painful ones, and none of them are about hardware.

Across network infrastructure, access control, video and intrusion work, our team has found that three questions separate the smooth jobs from the painful ones. None of them are about hardware.
1. Who owns the network?
If IT and facilities haven't agreed on VLANs, PoE budget and remote access before the first camera ships, you're not buying a system. You're buying a schedule risk.
2. What happens on day 91?
Warranty is not service. Ask who answers the phone, how fast, and what a firmware update cycle looks like over five years.
3. What does "integrated" mean here?
Two systems on the same screen isn't integration. Ask exactly which events in system A trigger which actions in system B, and get it in writing.
The cheapest bid usually skips all three. The cost shows up later, in change orders and downtime.
If you're scoping a Division 27 or Division 28 project this quarter, we're happy to pressure-test the spec before you sign anything.
