Lobby and Office Floor Security Expansion for a Global Technology Company
How IoTHS expanded access control and video for a global gaming and technology company's lobby and new office floor during a tenant-improvement fit-out.

A global gaming and technology company was expanding its office space as part of a multi-floor tenant-improvement fit-out led by a general contractor. IoTHS extended the company's access control and video systems into the lobby and a new office floor, working within the construction schedule and the company's existing Genetec Security Center standard.
At a glance
- Customer: Global gaming and technology company
- Scope: Lobby access control and video upgrades, plus a new office floor with 14 access-controlled doors and 13 cameras
- Platforms: Genetec Security Center, Mercury controllers, Hanwha cameras, LifeSafety Power power supplies and HID Signo readers
- Timeline: January 2026 to May 2026, with follow-on work through August 2026
- IoTHS services: Installation, termination, programming, commissioning, labeling, documentation and help desk support
The challenge
Security work in a tenant-improvement project has to fit around many other trades. Network, electrical, conduit and door hardware are typically handled by others, and the security integrator depends on all of them being ready. Drawings change as the project moves, and commissioning has to line up with when the network goes live.
The customer needed its new space secured to the same standard as the rest of its environment, on the platform its security team already uses, while coordinating with a general contractor and its trades. The scope covered two different kinds of work: upgrading an existing lobby, where turnstiles, elevator cabs and panels were already in place, and building out a new office floor that needed doors, panels and cameras from the start.
What we delivered
Lobby
- Expanded the existing access control panels
- Replaced eight readers at the turnstiles and in the elevator cabs with customer-supplied, mobile-ready readers
- Wired and configured the turnstile and elevator integrations
- Installed and tested a duress button
- Installed a lobby multi-sensor camera
In February 2026, the customer added more lobby cameras by change order. That work was absorbed into the project schedule.
New office floor
- Fourteen access-controlled doors, each with a reader, lock, request-to-exit device and door contact, terminated and commissioned
- New access control panels in two IDFs
- Thirteen cameras, including fixed, dual-sensor, multi-directional and multi-lens models, each aimed and focused
Documentation
Drawings were revised through multiple revisions and addenda as the project developed. IoTHS issued as-built drawings at closeout in May 2026, together with final billing.
How it works today
The new doors and cameras run on the customer's existing Genetec Security Center, so the security team manages them the same way as the rest of its sites. Commissioning was scheduled around the network go-live so devices came online once the network was ready.
The relationship continued after go-live:
- Stairwell lobby reader (June to August 2026): Added by reusing spare capacity on an existing controller, rather than adding new hardware
- Additional cameras (July 2026): Four cameras added on another floor
- Ongoing service: Door service tickets are handled through the IoTHS help desk
Who did what
Clear boundaries kept the work moving alongside the general contractor and trades:
- IoTHS: Programming, commissioning, labeling, termination and documentation, including as-built drawings
- General contractor and trades: Network cabling, PoE switch ports and switch configuration, conduit, electrical, fire-rated backboards, and door hardware other than the readers
- Customer: Supplied the mobile-ready lobby readers and set Genetec Security Center as the platform standard
