Executive Residence Security, Delivered as a Managed Service

A technology company's security program needed to protect an executive residence with the same rigor it applies to its corporate sites, and to give its global security operations center (GSOC) visibility into the home. IoTHS delivered the systems through a "security as a service" model: a one-time installation followed by a multi-year managed subscription billed monthly.

The challenge

A residence is not an office. There is no on-site security team, the people living there need systems that are simple to use, and every door, hatch and window is a possible point of entry. At the same time, the company's GSOC needed to see what was happening and know about critical alarms, without taking over the role of the professional monitoring center.

The goals were to:

• Cover every opening in the home
• Provide training and remote support for the people who use the systems
• Let the GSOC view live video
• Deliver alarm alerts to the GSOC as a second channel, after the central station

What we delivered

Exterior video

AI-capable exterior cameras record on premises and use behavior analytics to flag activity worth attention.

Whole-house intrusion detection

Every door, hatch and window is covered. The system combines wireless sensors, glass-break detection, motion detection, life-safety detectors, panic buttons and touchscreen keypads.

Professional monitoring

The intrusion system is monitored 24x7 by a UL-listed central station.

Door intercom

A door intercom with an indoor station lets residents communicate with visitors at the door from inside the home.

Integration with the company GSOC

• Live video: Available to the GSOC through the company's enterprise video platform, with single sign-on, so operators use the tools they already work in
• Critical alarms: Motion, glass-break and panic alarms also arrive in the GSOC as a second channel

The central station is always notified first. The GSOC alert adds awareness and does not replace professional monitoring.

Commercial model

The engagement was signed in early 2026. IoTHS completed the installation and documentation by spring 2026, with as-built drawings issued in May 2026. The monthly managed service has run continuously since April 2026 under a multi-year subscription with annual renewal.

How it works today

The managed subscription keeps the systems current and supported:

• Remote technical and configuration support during business hours
• Software and firmware updates
• Critical incident resolution
• Training for the people who use the systems
• Field technician service when an on-site visit is needed

The subscription does not include guard or response services, and it does not include video monitoring. Those roles belong to the central station and the company's GSOC.
